Selena Gomez revealed she turns to her younger sister Gracie Teefey when she needs to focus on her mental well-being.
The Only Murders In The Building star, 31, opened up about leaning on her 10-year-old sibling during ‘bad days’ in a new interview with her organization Wondermind in honor of World Mental Health Day on Tuesday.
When asked what her favorite thing to do when she’s ‘taking a mental health day,’ Selena replied, ‘Spending time with my little sister, Gracie.’
‘She’s so innocent and pure. She helps me keep perspective on life,’ the singer added. ‘It’s funny because she’s 10; I am 31, and even with such a big age gap I love her advice. She is very wise.’
As for how Selena can tell when she might need some little sister love from Gracie, the actress explained: ‘Usually, the first 10 minutes of the day I can kind of gauge how my day will go.’

‘Sometimes I just must accept it’s going to be a bad day and that’s OK. We all have bad days.’
Gracie is the younger daughter of Selena’s mom Mandy Teefey, and her stepdad Brian Teefey.
Selena was starring on Wizards of Waverley Place at the age of 21 when Mandy and Brian welcomed Gracie.
She also has a half-sister Victoria, 7, through her dad Rick Gomez and his wife Sara, who also appears occasionally on her social media platforms.
To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day along with the Wondermind interview, Selena also took to her Instagram to let fans know Sephora is donating 100% of the sales of Selena’s makeup Rare Beauty to the Rare Impact Fund for 24 hours.
‘It would mean the world to me to have you join us in expanding access to mental health resources and support for young people around the world,’ Selena wrote alongside a stunning photo of her holding up a Rare Impact sticker.
This isn’t the first time Selena – who is also Wondermind’s cofounder and chief impact officer – has used her platform to raise awareness on mental health.
In fact, Selena was a guest speaker at the Mental Health Youth Action Forum in May 2022, where she sought to help destigmatize the topic by sharing her own story, including being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in her 20s.

Big praise: She’s so innocent and pure. She helps me keep perspective on life,’ the singer added. ‘She is very wise’
‘I felt like once I found out what was going on mentally, I found that there was more freedom for me to be okay with what I had because I was learning about it,’ she said at the time.
‘Bringing attention to mental health through media or just by talking about your journeys can help.’
She concluded: ‘Mental health is very personal for me and I hope that by using my platform to share my own story and working with incredible people like all of you, I can help others feel less alone and find the help they need, which is honestly all I want.’
