United would be happy if their goalkeeper didn’t have to do anything, but at least when he was called up last night, Andre Onana was up to the challenge.
The Cameroonian made some fine saves throughout the game and while none were particularly spectacular, the way he made them was really calm and often kept them out of all danger.
Onana struggled in his first season, but for the most part, he was also a reliable shot-stopper, especially with the frequent changes to the defensive line.
He made several important saves shortly after the break to keep United in the game. Hopefully, he can produce a similar performance against Manchester City on Sunday.
