Recently, C.Ronaldo behaved offensively in the match against Al Shabab in round 21 of the Saudi Arabia national championship. After opposing fans continuously chanted Messi’s name, the Portuguese player spread his legs and continuously moved his hands up and down in his pelvic area.
After this video was posted on social networks, many fans expressed anger at the Portuguese superstar’s offensive behavior. They spoke out against and demanded punishment for the striker born in 1985.
Explaining his actions, C. Ronaldo said that his actions were normal. In a report sent to the Organizing Committee of the Saudi Arabia National Championship, superstar No. 7 wrote: “I respect every club.
My actions were intended to demonstrate strength and victory. I didn’t offend anyone. We are used to expressing ourselves like that in Europe.”
The disciplinary committee of the Saudi Arabia Football Federation received C. Ronaldo’s report and officially announced the punishment on the evening of February 28. The Portuguese star was suspended for one match and had to pay a fine of nearly 2,700 USD.
Al Nassr Club will also have to pay nearly 5,400 USD to Al Shabab for complaint fees. Neither Ronaldo nor Al Nassr have the right to appeal this penalty, which means CR7 will definitely have to retire from the match against Al Hazm in round 22 of the Saudi League tonight, February 29.
In recent times, there have been many opinions opposing C.Ronaldo. Former goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Deayea said: “C. Ronaldo’s actions are immoral and unacceptable. It should not appear in a player who is considered a role model.”
Marca newspaper commented: “C. Ronaldo not only responded to the ridicule of Al Shabab fans with curses, but this player also showed unacceptable actions.
This is not the first time he has acted like this when an opponent compared him to Messi. C. Ronaldo’s strong personality was expressed in an unnecessary way.”
It is worth mentioning that in the match between Al Nassr and Al Hilal in April 2023, C.Ronaldo also did the same thing with the opponent’s fans.
In February 2024, also in the match against Al Hilal, the striker grabbed a fan’s scarf and threw it on the ground, then stuffed it into his pants before entering the tunnel. On both occasions, the Saudi Arabia Football Federation did not impose any penalty on the 39-year-old player.
