Ariana Grande is settling into her IDGAF Era with her single “yes, and?”, and now she’s dressing the part. In an all-black look, the pop star is saying RIP to her haters.
Grande stepped out today dressed like a young widow whose wealthy older husband has died under mysterious circumstances. She wore a black sleeveless Coperni dress with a plunging V-neck and an asymmetrical hemline. Attached to her dress was a faux fur-lined hood, which cascaded down the front of her body. (Grande also styled the hood tossed over her shoulder, displaying her signature ponytail.) Aiding her femme fatale outfit were her accessories: a pair of black pointy-toed knee-high boots from The Row, sheer black tights, black leather wrist-length gloves, and a black Chanel top handle purse with gold hardware.
Grande has been particularly interested in gloves lately, working them into several of her recent looks. Late last month, she continued her monochromatic kick, pairing cognac brown gloves with her matching skirt suit. And when announcing her new album, Eternal Sunshine, she wore a pair of sheer red gloves. Do we sense a theme?
Grande has built a reputation for dropping musical Easter eggs with her wardrobe. (She did tease “yes, and?” with a sweatshirt.) Given the attitude of her latest song, we expect that the rest of Eternal Sunshine will follow suit—this outfit certainly says so.
