Shakira Announces New Album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran
Shakira has announced that her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, will be released on March 22nd.
In addition to teasing the new album during the Super Bowl last weekend, Shakira has already offered several previews of Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore): She’s shared the Karol G collaboration “TQG,” “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro, and the Bizarrap mix, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The full tracklist boasts a total of 16 songs.
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is Shakira’s first album since 2017’s El Dorado, and her first since her divorce with Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué in 2022. In a statement, Shakira says the dominant theme of the album is resilience. “Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength.”
The album will be available in four distinct vinyl editions, with each edition paired to a different color. The Sapphire edition will be available exclusively on Amazon, while the Ruby addition will be available exclusively at Target. She’ll make the Emerald edition available exclusively on her website, while the diamond edition will be sold at all major retailers. Pre-orders for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran are ongoing.
Back in 2022, Shakira was thrust into a $15 million tax fraud case in Spain, but settled in court on the trial’s first day.
