Russian “expert” Valentin Degterev has created a stir on social media by announcing that he has discovered a UFO stuck in ice in Antarctica. According to his observations using Google Earth, the object is a disc-shaped flying machine from a distant universe that crashed three years ago and is now frozen in ice.
Degterev, who has not provided any evidence to support his claim, believes that the object cannot be explained by anything naturally occurring on Earth and is not a polar station, aircraft, or ship lost in the area. He estimates the size of the UFO to be between 20 and 70 meters, but does not specify how he arrived at this measurement.
Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual and a longtime UFO investigator, commented on the image, saying that it is difficult to say what it shows precisely, but that Antarctica has a “long tradition” of alien spacecraft landing. Watson did not endorse Degterev’s theory but acknowledged the possibility of extraterrestrial activity in the region.
However, experts in Antarctica have dismissed Degterev’s claim, stating that the black spot is a common tear, a result of ice calving or melting. They argue that the area where the “UFO” is supposed to be located has numerous rock formations and shadows that can create misleading images.
While the debate about the nature of the object continues, the story has attracted attention from UFO enthusiasts and skeptics alike, who are eager to explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life on Earth. Some have criticized Degterev for making unfounded claims and ignoring scientific evidence, while others have praised him for his curiosity and daring.
The discovery of a UFO in Antarctica would undoubtedly be a significant event in human history, as it could confirm the existence of intelligent life beyond our planet. However, until more conclusive evidence is presented, it remains a matter of speculation and debate.
