Al Nassr signed an unprecedented contract close to the day Ronaldo reappeared

Al Nassr Club has just announced a cooperation agreement with Adidas, the rival of the sponsorship brand associated with Cristiano Ronaldo, Nike.

On February 6, local time, Al Nassr announced the signing of a 3-year sponsorship contract with Adidas. Accordingly, the German fashion giant will be the official outfit supplier for the club’s players and staff from the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

This is the first time Al Nassr has established a partnership with Adidas. According to Marca, the German brand had to pay a huge amount of money to win the right to sponsor Ronaldo’s team. That’s even more special when they took it away from their market competitor, Nike.

Notably, Nike has only just returned as a shirt supplier for Al Nassr from 2023. The American brand also has a lifetime sponsorship contract with Cristiano Ronaldo . So the fact that they lost the sponsorship agreement for CR7’s club to Adidas made fans even more surprised.

Sharing about the new sponsorship contract, Al Nassr CEO Guido Fienga said: “The club and Adidas have established a special partnership. Al Nassr’s stature combined with the iconic three stripes Adidas symbolism, creating resonance to enhance the global impact the club can achieve.

This partnership is a sign of Al Nassr’s ambition to transform the club into a football superpower, not only in Saudi Arabia but also around the world.”

As for Ronaldo, even though he is a lifetime ambassador for Nike, Al Nassr’s cooperation with Adidas will not affect him in any way. During his peak career, CR7 also wore German brand clothes many times and was very successful. Including periods at Real Madrid, Juventus and Man Utd (2nd time).

The Portuguese superstar is currently actively training to be able to return as soon as possible before the friendly match against Al Hilal on February 9. Previously, CR7 missed the anticipated match with Messi and Inter Miami due to injury, as well as having to cancel the friendly tournament in China.
