Cowboys Moves: Micah Parsons ‘Going,’ Mike Zimmer ‘Coming,’ Dak Prescott ‘Signing’? FISH PODCAST

FRISCO – There is no joking around when it comes to Dak Prescott’s contract as we move to the start of the NFL business year or when it comes to replacing Dan Quinn as he moves on to take the Washington Commanders head coaching job.

But there is a little room to understand that a Micah Parsons comment – you know, one of the many Micah Parsons comments that get so much traction – that was meant to be a warm joke … should not be taken seriously.

Washington receiver Jahan Dotson is tweeting at his old Penn State pal Parsons in response to that team hiring Quinn as the new head coach.

And it’s all created a bit of a misunderstanding.

Micah Parsons and Jahan Dotson played at Penn State together.

“We welcome you with open arms brotha,” Dotson tweeted at Parsons.

Again, this stems from a “warm joke,” Parsons recently saying, “Dan’s my guy. “And if he (does) leave me, it’s always love. He might take me with him. You never know.”

Actually, we do know. The Cowboys plan to keep Parsons in Dallas “for life,” and will soon be negotiating with him a contract that could be in the range of $30 million APY to make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

We talk about that in the Fish Report in addition to our endorsement of the idea of Mike Zimmer as a defensive coordinator candidate at The Star, and another bit of misunderstanding when it comes to team owner Jerry Jones’ approach to Dak’s contract.
