MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE—DEAD RECKONING is now available to stream on Paramount+.
To watch the seventh MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE installation, viewers can sign up for a seven-day free trial for the streaming service.
Variety shared, “you can keep watching Paramount+ for $5.99/month for the basic ad-supported plan. If you want to go ad-free, it’s priced at $11.99/month. This plan includes programming from Showtime at no additional cost.”
DEAD RECKONING follows “Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With the fate of the world at stake, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.”
Movieguide® praised its “Very strong allegorical Christian worldview with the message that ‘the Cross of Christ holds the key to defeat or destroy evil.’”
For those who want to catch up on all the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movies, the six previous films are also available on Paramount+.
The Tom Cruise-led franchise has been successful for nearly three decades.
“Despite MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7’s soft box office haul of $567.5 million worldwide, the franchise as a whole has a proven track record for high quality stunts and audience thrills for nearly 30 years, ” Variety noted.
Part of Movieguide®s review of DEAD RECKONING reads:
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One tells a gripping story of good versus evil. It’s a superlative high-stakes spy thriller with explosive action, gripping suspense, and great characters. Dead Reckoning Part One has a strong allegorical Christian worldview… the theme that the cross of Christ holds the key to destroy evil. However, the movie has lots of strong action violence and some foul language including four strong profanities, Movieguide advises strong caution for teenagers and adults.
Movieguide® previously reported:
As the actors’ strike continues, Paramount has reworked the timeline for its major releases, pushing the next installment in Tom Cruise’s MISSION IMPOSSIBLE franchise to 2025.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING – PART ONE, released in July of this year, was meant to be quickly followed by its sequel, DEAD RECKONING – PART TWO, only a year later. However, the actors’ strike has left the cast unable to work on the movie, making a July 2024 release impossible.
It is now slated for May 23, 2025.
With the delayed release date, producers have decided to rename the movie, dropping the DEAD RECKONING title for a different, yet-to-be-released name. The plot, however, is expected to play out as originally planned, picking up where the first movie left off.
