This summer, Argentina will participate in Copa America and this could be Messi’s last tournament with the national team. However, Julian Alvarez admitted that he wants to see Messi continue to play for Argentina in the future.
“Everything depends on Messi, but I think if he wants to retire from the team, Messi can do it comfortably.” When asked if he and his teammates wanted to see Messi continue to play for Argentina, Alvarez replied: “We all want that.”
Messi is the idol of Julian Alvarez as well as many other Argentine players. And Alvarez admits it was crazy to play alongside his hero for Argentina.
“When I was growing up, Messi was my idol. I still remember the first training sessions with the team, I asked to take a photo with Messi. And then I stepped onto the national team and had a different perspective. It’s really crazy but also amazing. I’m enjoying every moment of playing with Messi. I’m proud of everything we achieved with the national team during this time. Those are the things that Messi has obtained after a very long search.”
