2 stars delayed negotiations with Real Madrid

Real Madrid entered the end of last season with uncertainty weighing on a number of players as their contracts expired. It looks like that will happen again this summer, with four players out of contract and two loan deals ending in June.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are the most notable people whose contracts are about to expire, in the context of Joselu Mato and Kepa Arrizabalaga hoping to convince Real to keep them. In addition, two veteran stars Lucas Vazquez and Nacho Fernandez are also facing decisions to leave or stay at the Bernabeu this summer.

Often left on the bench by Carlo Ancelotti, the lack of playing minutes made Nacho consider his future, but in the end he agreed to extend his contract for another year. This season, Nacho plays a more important role due to ligament injuries of David Alaba or Eder Militao.

That could greatly affect Nacho’s ability to make decisions about his future. Journalist Matteo Moretto shared on The Daily Briefing that  Nacho and Vazquez are likely to return to the negotiating table in April or May .

Recent weeks have seen Nacho’s form decline. Despite having the best defense in La Liga, Los Blancos have conceded 12 goals in the last 8 matches. Nacho just turned 34 and Real has a policy of only offering contract extensions to players over 30 years old for another year.
