JUST IN: Dak Prescott And Children’s Cancer Fund Team Just Scored A Record-Breaking $1.5M Check

Dallas Cowboys Quarterback/NFL Man of the Year Dak Prescott went to the hospital today. Whoa! Don’t get your get-well cards ready.

Thank-you cards might be more appropriate.

The Dakster was at Children’s Medical Center Dallas this afternoon for a record-breaking occasion. It was the check presentation for April’s 2023 Children’s Cancer Fund Gala co-chaired by Heather Randall and Blake Stephenson.

The mega-gala that Dak and former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Troy Aikman served as honorary co-chairs hauled in $1.5M to support key areas within the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Health, including Child Life services,

Dr. Caroline Smith’s pediatric cancer research project, a Junior Faculty position, endowments supporting Child Life, Pet Therapy and Research and additional research projects.

The funds are the result of the yearlong work of Heather, Blake, Children’s Cancer Fund Board President Barry Pennett and Executive Director Jennifer Arthur.

On hand for the big reveal and handover were Children’s Medical Center Foundation President Brent Christopher, Call for the Cure award recipient Dr. Caroline Smith and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Chief Dr. Steve Skapek.

As Dak was heading for his car, an AARP-type Children’s volunteer asked, “Was that Dak Prescott? He’s taller than he looks on TV.”

In the eyes of people fighting pediatric cancer, he’s mighty tall.
