Al Nassr is currently on a mid-season tour of China. Friendly matches were arranged with Shanghai Shenua and Zhejiang clubs on January 24 and 28, respectively. Therefore, thousands of Chinese fans were eagerly waiting to see Ronaldo “in the flesh” step onto the field.

But recently, Ronaldo announced his withdrawal due to a muscle injury. Faced with this difficult situation, Al Nassr decided to postpone the matches to another day so that Ronaldo could attend. However, that cannot satisfy CR7 fans.

According to Daily Star , they started storming the hotel and got angry at the club. Fans in the country of billions of people seem to dislike this type of “last minute judgment”.

A video circulating on social media shows chaos taking place outside the hotel. The rage of the crowd forced security forces to be present to deal with it.

Another video recorded fans continuously chanting Ronaldo’s name outside. This happened after he held a press conference to apologize for not being able to play.

Ronaldo apologized to the fans

“In football there are some things you cannot control. I have been playing for nearly 22 years and am one of the few players who has not had many injuries. So I am really sad that I cannot be with Al Nassr enjoy this tour. I came to China from 2003 – 2004 so I consider this place as my second home.

I feel like I always receive special love here. I know everyone is sad too, but we have to look at it in a positive way. We have not canceled the match and will definitely return,” Ronaldo said at the press conference.

According to Ronaldo, he regrets this incident. Therefore, CR7’s goal is to return to make the Chinese people happy. In addition, he also hopes that fans will understand and sympathize with his situation.

Due to the unknown recovery time, Ronaldo is facing the risk of missing the entire match with Lionel Messi on February 2.
