The “Polish Pyramids” are a group of megalithic tombs that have been discovered in Wietrzychowice, Poland. They are elongated mounds with a length of up to 150 m and a height of 2-3 m, probably belonging to Funnelbeaker culture, 4000 years BC.

They have been here for thousands of years. They aroused curiosity and sometimes anxiety among the local population. The Kujawy megalia, i.e. tombs from the late Neolithic period (3000-2500 BC), were the heroes of the popular science conference “Wietrzychowice Cultural Park”. On the European Megalith Trail.

Neolithic tombs from Wietrzychowice and Gaj in the Izbica Kujawska commune and from Rzeszynek nad Gopłem are the oldest architectural monuments in Poland. They fit into the so-called the megalithic idea, which was very widespread in Europe in the late Neolithic period.

The first researcher of the Wiechowice tombs was prof. Konrad Jażdżewski, his work is currently continued by Dr. Piotr Papiernik, president of the Archaeological Research Foundation named after Professor Konrad Jażdżewski.

In order to popularize these extraordinary monuments among tourists, the Wietrzychowice Cultural Park was established, managed by Adam Myrta, director of the Municipal and Municipal Cultural Center in Izbica Kujawska.
