Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence explained just how badly she dealt with a spicy wing challenge when the cameras cut.

While doing a press tour for her latest movie No Hard Feelings, Lawrence was invited to appear on Hot Ones– an American YouTube talk show hosted by Sean Evans. Check out what she had to say about the ridiculously spicy challenge:

Lawrence’s film No Hard Feelings follows a cash-strapped woman hired by a pair of rich parents to date their 19-year-old son in a bid to ensure he has sex before he heads off to college.

On Hot Ones, Evans asks celebrities a series of questions as they attempt to work their way through rounds of increasingly spicy chicken wings.

Speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Lawrence explained just how awfully her body reacted to the challenge after the cameras stopped rolling.

Lawrence had been taking part in a number of press ops that day as part of the junket for No Hard Feelings and had taken the challenge in the hotel she was staying in. She later revealed exactly how her body reacted to the hot sauce.

“I passionately threw up after. Violently,” Lawrence told Cohen.

“I made it upstairs to my suite. My holding suite. We shot at the Four Seasons downstairs.”

She added: “My stomach gave me, like, eight minutes to get upstairs and then she… She… [vomited].”

Lawrence’s attempt at the spicy challenge also went viral on YouTube and was viewed more than 12 million times. Check it out here:

While the star performed respectably during the segment, when she reached the wing covered in a hot sauce called Da Bomb Beyond Insanity, she soon reached for the water pitcher, fanning herself as tears began to stream.

“Nothing helps!” she said though pained laughter.

“I’m drooling so much. Is my face OK?”

During the Hot Ones segment, Lawrence spoke about her acting career and joked that in 20 years’ time she will agree with Jodie Foster, that there will be similarities between the roles she takes and what is going on in her life.

Lawrence joked that she would look back saying she really wanted to date a 20-year-old in reference to the character from the film, Percy.

While the premise of the film has been met with some criticism, Lawrence’s co-star Laura Benanti – who plays Percy’s mum – said the movie is actually a satire of helicopter parents.

“It’s a cautionary tale,” she told the Hollywood Reporter.

“If you are a helicopter parent who puts your child in such a bubble, they do not know how to exist outside of that bubble, you are going to make the exact opposite and insane choice, which is what they are doing here.”

Far from sitting behind a desk all day, being an actor like Jennifer Lawrence means that no two days are the same.

One day you’re fighting for your survival in the Hunger Games, the next you’re spending the entire day naked while cameras and crew members watch on to capture a scene for the raunchy comedy No Hard Feelings, which is now on Netflix.

Co-starring Andrew Barth Feldman, No Hard Feelings tells the story of an introverted 19-year-old whose parents are desperate to have him to lose his virginity before he goes off to college.

Enter Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Maddie, who is on the brink of losing her home and is in desperate need of some cash.

Maddie desperately tries to bring Feldman’s character Percy out of his shell in exchange for payment from his parents, and through her character’s efforts, Lawrence found herself spending an entire day completely naked.

Recalling the decision to bare all to the camera, Lawrence told Variety: “Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’ I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me.”

There was no delicate mood lighting or tactful placing of palm trees to cover up the nudity in the scene; Lawrence went full-frontal, all while acting out a fight scene with another character in the film.

It’s really a scene that is better watched than described, but while it only lasts a few minutes in the movie, it took about a day to shoot, Lawrence said.

Filming took place following a ‘lot of rehearsal’, and formed just one of the many awkward moments in the film.

Thankfully Lawrence and Feldman didn’t find it so awkward in real life, though, as Feldman explained: “Every situation that these characters end up in, you’re laughing your butt off.”

Addressing some of the close encounters between the characters, he added: “We became so close instantly that nothing ever felt weird or unsafe. It was entirely professional.”

“Even when I put my T-shirt over your head and motor-boated you? You felt safe?” Lawrence replied.

Luckily, Feldman was sure: “I felt it was an exclusively sterile and professional environment.”

No Hard Feelings isn’t the kind of film you want to sit down and watch with your parents, but it’s proved a hit with fans who have scored it an impressive 87 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

It arrived on Netflix this week, providing the perfect palette cleanser to any scary movies you might have lined up for spooky season.
