Why and How Did Ariana Grande Lose So Much Weight?

Despite being petite throughout her life, pictures of Ariana Grande from the earlier part of last year revealed a skinnier appearance. She attributed the weight loss to preparing for a movie role, more specifically, Wicked. It is speculated the decision for weight loss is to pay homage to the original actress, Kristin Chenoweth.

Now coming to the part of how she did it, the singer stuck to a strict vegan diet. Reports suggest she has further limited her diet to include mostly smoothies, kale, seeds, nuts, broccoli, and tofu. In response to leaked diet specifications and images, Ariana Grande addressed the issue in a TikTok video,

“This is about making sure the foods you put in your body will nourish you and be put to good use. The reason why I lost as much weight as I did is because I used to live on junk food. Like around the clock. So drastically changed my eating habits, started exercising daily, and I’m all-around a healthier me. I’m eating as much as I was before, just the content has changed.”

What truly matters is her well-being, and she is in good health. Wicked is surrounded by various controversies. Fans eagerly anticipate the release on November 27, 2024, to finally experience it in theaters.

Ariana Grande on How the Online Discussion About Her Body Affects Her

Amidst growing concerns from fans about excessive talk regarding her body, Ariana Grande took to TikTok. In her video she urged those commenting on her physique, even if coming from a place of love, to take a moment and think. She said (via Women’s Health Magazine),

“I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body…[that’s] paid such close attention,—I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what. For me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that, in fact, wasn’t my healthy”

While the concerns stem from a place of love, the actress revealed that the pictures of herself from the past, to which she is being compared, were not taken at her healthiest. In fact, she is thriving now. She also emphasizes that further discussing and scrutinizing her choices won’t yield positive outcomes.

It’s crucial to prioritize the mental health and well-being of the person in question. Beyond her own body, the singer wishes for a societal shift where people refrain from commenting on others’ bodies.
