A Google Earth user has identified what appear to be several entrances to underground tunnels in the region that is home to the famous Area 51.
There are few places on Earth as notoriously secret as Area 51 – a remote facility in the Nevada desert that has become synonymous with stories of reverse-engineered alien technology and the development of highly advanced black projects, about which almost no one knows.
However, thanks to satellite imagery technology, it has become increasingly possible to get a bird’s-eye view of the base and its surroundings using Google’s free online mapping service. Sometimes, studying these maps can even reveal unprecedented details about the secret base.
This latest example, courtesy of the FindingUFO YouTube channel, suggests the presence of an important underground structure in the vicinity of Area 51, as evidenced by what appear to be tunnel entrances found in two locations with roads leading to parking lots where you can access the underground tunnels.
While pareidolia can be a major problem when looking at satellite imagery, in this case there appear to be tunnel entrances carved into the hill. If true, Area 51 may be much larger than it appears on the surface. The exact dimensions of this subterranean structure, however, remain impossible to determine.
