After proving her magnificent skills in the TV industry through projects like the hit Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious, Ariana Grande fully stepped into the world of music. And boy, has she done some of the most wonderful wonders. Besides her numerous garnered accolades acknowledging her talent, the pop icon has also broken a mind-boggling number of records.
These records hold a whopping fair share of records from the Guinness World Records as well. In fact, the most recent record that she broke was even too much for someone like Taylor Swift until very recently, who has been in the music industry for years much more than her!
Ariana Grande’s 2021 Guinness World Record Is Mindblowing
Set all thanks to her chart-topping debut single, positions, the Victorious alum now has five singles that debuted at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list. The other songs include her hit singles thank u, next (17 November 2018), 7 rings (2 February 2019), Stuck with U (ft. Justin Bieber; 23 May 2020), and Rain on Me (Lady Gaga ft. Grande; 6 June 2020).
This record is tremendously stunning for someone who has been in the industry for a little over a decade, considering how it also marked the 20th official monumental record title she has broken since the inception of her career.
Further making this record even more special is the fact that even industry giants like the recently made billionaire Taylor Swift, who has been in the entertainment field since 2004, i.e. 4 years before Grande, couldn’t break it before her and held the record with a maximum of 3 tracks until recently.
Before this, the other nineteen major records she holds include multiple records for Spotify in the fields of the most followers, streamed act, monthly listeners, and streamed track in one week in the female category, among others in the music field.
Ariana Grande Still Holds The Title But In The ‘Female’ Field
While the monumental record title for “Most Songs to Debut at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100” in the Guinness World Record was acquired by Ariana Grande in 2021, what’s even more remarkable is the fact that she still holds the title, even after two years, as of this writing.
However, the only difference made about it is that she now holds the title in the ‘Female’ category along with Taylor Swift and BTS, both of whom have gradually made their way up to equal her record score with their superhit singles.
Moreover, the person now leading the list after having broken Ariana Grande’s record in the overall “Most Songs to Debut at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100” category irrespective of male or female singers is none other than Drake, with a sparkling seven No.1 debuts.
Nonetheless, the Best Mistake singer’s record is still beyond commendable, considering how she debuted in the industry after all the above-listed singers, except for BTS.
