The singer previously revealed in an interview with ‘Allure’ that she got a tattoo inspired by her ‘Wicked’ character
Fans finally got their first look at Ariana Grande’s Wicked-inspired ink!
The “Thank U, Next” singer, 30 — who stars as Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical — showed off her tattoo of the saintly blonde enchantress in a new video of her makeup routine for Vogue published on Tuesday.
A black outline of Glinda could be seen on the back of the singer’s right hand while she applied different products onto her face for a tutorial on her skin care and retro-style glam. (You may have to turn your screen upside down to get the full effect!)
On Thursday, Grande shared another makeup video that gave an even better look at the tattoo (this time right side up) when she showed it off again on Instagram. While touting her r.e.m. beauty products on social media, her new Glinda ink could be seen clear as day on her hand.
Grande revealed that she got the tattoo in an interview with Allure published late last month when asked if she planned on getting any new ink sometime in the near future.
“It’s Glinda from the original L. Frank Baum book,” she told the outlet as described the tattoo on the back of her right hand. “I waited forever to fill up this hand. And I thought, ‘I’m gonna wait for the right thing to come along,’ and yeah, that felt very right.”
“This one I knew I wanted to get for a very long time,” she added, explaining how she ultimately decides what to get tattooed and when. “When they come to me, I just get them.”
While the Grammy winner is taking inspiration from her character in her real-life style decisions, Grande previously shared how she is incorporating her own brand of beauty in the Wicked film version of Glinda.

In honor of her makeup brand r.em. beauty’s one-year anniversary of hitting the shelves at Ulta stores, Grande answered questions from fans in a YouTube video about her favorite products back in April. During the Q&A, a fan wanted to know if she used r.e.m. beauty on set of Wicked, which the actress confirmed was true.
“Glinda wears a few things,” Grande said at the time. “I told my beautiful makeup artist, Nuria, who I love with all my heart, I said, ‘I don’t want to go into this with any sort of rules or requests; I want us to find her from the ground up. I want to just sit down and let you play and we’ll find her together.'”
She added, “I just wanted to be a new girl and find Glinda with her.”
After announcing Grande’s starring role in November 2021, Wicked began filming in the U.K. last year and is slated to release in two parts. The cast of the adaptation also boasts Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible.
