Edgar Mitchell was one of 12 astronauts to walk on the surface of the moon.
Through the latest radio interview on Kerrang! In the broadcast, he told host Nick Margerrison: “I happen to have had the privilege of knowing that we have been visited on this planet and that the UFO phenomenon is real.” That statement shocked the host and sparked a startling revelation of a true American hero.
Born in Texas and raised in New Mexico, he earned several degrees, such as a Doctor of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, as well as at least four honorary doctorate degrees from prestigious universities. Among his numerous honors are the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the United States Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
Mitchell began his Navy career in 1952 and completed flight training in 1954. During the 1950s, he flew A3 aircraft as part of Heavy Attack Squadron Two and served as a Research Project Pilot with Air Development Squadron Five of the Navy. During the early 1960s, he was Chief of the Navy Field Office’s Project Management Division for a Manned Orbital Laboratory. In 1965, he entered the U.S. Air Force Aerospace Research Pilot School in preparation for astronaut roles.
In 1966, Edgar Mitchell was selected for NASA’s Astronaut Training Program. After serving as a member of the Apollo 9 astronaut support crew and as a backup pilot for the Apollo 10 lunar module, Mitchell was assigned lunar module pilot. In 1971, U.S. Navy Captain Mitchell was part of the Apollo 14 crew along with Admiral Alan Shepard and Colonel Stuart Roosa.
In the immediate aftermath of the Apollo 13 catastrophe, the whole world was eyeing the Apollo 14 Moon mission. Mitchell maneuvered the Antares lunar module for a perfect landing in the mountainous region of Fra Mauro’s moon. Mitchell and Shepard exited the module, conducted a series of experiments, and collected more than 45 kilograms of lunar rocks and set a record for a thirty-three-hour stay on the lunar surface. They also hold the record for the longest moonwalk ever recorded, clocking in at nine hours and seventeen minutes.

Nine days after the start of his mission, Edgar Mitchell returned victorious to Earth and helped re-establish the faith of the public and the American government in NASA. He retired from NASA and the U.S. Navy in 1972. Since then, Mitchell has served as an author and speaker on many subjects, including space exploration, the nature of consciousness, and the powers of the mind.
Now seventy-seven, the sixth man to walk on the surface of the Moon told a stunned radio audience that aliens from other worlds had contacted humans and that governments had purposely covered up what they had learned about these entities. Mitchell describes the beings as “little people who seem strange to us.” He says the traditional description of creatures with small bodies, big eyes, and big heads is correct.
Speaking about the cover-up, Mitchell told radio host Nick Margerrison: “‘It’s been covered up well by all of our governments for the last 60 years or so, but it slowly leaked out and some of us were privileged to have been informed about some of it… I’ve been in military and intelligence circles, and I know that beneath the surface of what is public knowledge, yes, we’ve been visited. Reading the newspapers recently, that’s been happening a lot.”
Responding to a question from Margerrison about the disclosure, Mitchell said: “This is really starting to open up. I think we’re moving towards real disclosure and some serious organizations are moving in that direction.” Well, everyone except NASA. Despite what Mitchell did for them, a spokesperson for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration responded to his comments by saying, “NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any kind of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe. Dr. Mitchell is a great American, but we don’t share his view on this issue.”
It’s no surprise that what other government agencies have described as “the most deceptive organization in the United States Government” would turn against Mitchell as soon as he tried to tell the truth about UFOs and Aliens. They continually explained UFO sightings of astronauts as cases of mistaken identity, saying they were pieces of rockets, ice, dust particles, and space junk. If the truth is out there, NASA won’t be the government agency that tells you about it!
