Shedeur Sanders was not the only prospect who fell victim to a prank call during the 2025 NFL Draft.

The former Colorado quarterback was selected by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday afternoon as the AFC North outfit opted to take him off the board at No. 144. But he was made to think he was going a lot earlier after receiving a phone call from a prankster during the second round.

Sanders wasn’t sure how anyone could have sniped his number, given that he’d gotten it specifically for the draft and was only shared in an NFL Draft email thread. However, the leak has since been identified as Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich.

According to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz, Tyler Warren also got pranked while the New York Jets were on the clock at No. 7 on Thursday night. The former Penn State tight end was eventually selected by the Indianapolis Colts seven picks later.

His camp believes the call came from the same area code or number used to prank-call Sanders the following day.

Meanwhile, the NFL is said to be conducting an investigation into these matters, with the Falcons fully cooperating, having released a statement on Sunday.

Jax Ulbrich has also issued an apology to Sanders and his family.
