NFL fans are amazed after learning that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl 59 MVP Jalen Hurts lives in a modest and traditional home.

Most high-profile celebrities with tens of millions of dollars in their bank accounts usually have multiple luxurious homes — including a mansion. But Jalen Hurts doesn’t need such a home to be happy and comfortable.

Hurts signed a five-year contract extension worth $255 million in the 2023 offseason. Throw in endorsements and the fact he’s playing his way to another nine-figure extension down the road, and Hurts could easily buy himself multiple mansions and still be comfortable financially.

The popular ML Football X/Twitter account shared a post about Hurts’ living situation: He’s currently renting a home worth $2,000 a month and bought his parents a home in Houston worth $215,000:

And football fans had all sorts of reactions to this post about Jalen Hurts’ modest living situation:

Fiscal responsibility should be celebrated, not criticized,” one fan wrote.

“Money management is a big deal when you have that kind of purse thrown at you. Some people live it up, others live within. This is cool to hear and see,” said another.

“I don’t get why this man gets so much hate,” remarked a user.

“This is a smart man,” a fan said.

“finally someone being smart with it risking your body is worth the money if you plan on living past your career,” wrote another.

“Nothing wrong with that…..he feels that this home is ample and spacious enough for him to live in. So good on him,” said a fan.

There are too many unfortunate cases of former superstar athletes blowing most of their finances and going broke, so it’s nice to see people like Jalen Hurts be responsible and not use their bank accounts as reasons to spend lavishly 24/7.

It’s also a nice example of how, contrary to what much of society thinks these days, you don’t need money or fame to be happy and live a nice life.

Jalen Hurts Is On Top Of The World

Hurts and the Eagles came into 2024 with sky-high expectations after a busy offseason that included the additions of Saquon Barkley, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell.

Sure enough, the Eagles were up for the challenge and completed a tremendous regular season with a blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. Hurts had quite the journey to get to this point, and it’s hard not to be happy for a player like him after reaching the mountaintop.
