Simone biles is clapping back while bringing home the gold.
After the United States women’s gymnastics team won gold at the Paris Olympics on July 30th, the most decorated American gymnast in history took to Instagram to celebrate, posting a picture of the team with the caption: lack of talent, lazy Olympic Champions.
Many raved in the comment section over the athletes Choice, including former gymnast and gold medalist Michaela, as Simone’s caption appears to be a response to former 2020 Olympic Vault silver medalist Michaela Skinner, who caught Heat last month after making comments in a now deleted video, where she said that, besides Simone, the talent and depth wasn’t what it used to be and claimed that the teams work ethic was lacking.
But besides Simone, I feel like the talent in the depth just isn’t like what it used to be.
I just noticed like.
I mean, obviously a lot of girls don’t work as hard.
The girls just don’t have the work ethic like.
And it’s hard too, because a safe sport, like coaches can’t get on athletes and they have to be really careful what they say, which in some ways is really good, but at the same time, to get to where you need to be in gymnastics, you do have to be, I feel like, a little aggressive and a little intense.
S Mode had appeared to respond to Mich’s comments around the time of the video’s posting writing on her thread’s account July 3rd.
Not everyone needs a mic in a platform.
After the backlash, Mel apologized for what she said, claiming it was misunderstood, and also posted a statement to her Instagram which read in part: upon reflection, I was comparing the Marta era to the current Era.
I’m coming to terms that I’ve not fully dealt with the emotional and verbal abuse I endured under Marta that perhaps led to my hurtful comments.
I take full responsibility for what I said and I deeply apologize.
The silver medalist also celebrated the women’s win, reposting a photo of the Usa women’s gymnastics team’s Victory to her Instagram story, adding hard emojis.
But the dust may still not have settled since on Wednesday Simone Posted- Oop, I’ve been blocked on X, with Jordan Charles adding a screenshot of Simone’s phone trying to access Michaela’s Instagram profile, which appears to have blocked her.
Still, Simone, Sunni, Lee Jordan and the rest of the teammates have been enjoying their sweet victory, posting Tik toks with their gold medals.
Everybody want to know what I would do if I didn’t win.
I guess we’ll never know.
2012 gold medalist Michaela supported the gals too and didn’t hold back her feelings about her fellow Michaela’s past comments.
Chiming in on Simone’s post with a not so subtle reference to the Nsfw nickname for Team Usa writing it doesn’t get more iconic than this.
She Eed around and found out for real feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name.
